; The present thesis explores the activity of the volunteers during the Hungarian refugee crisis in the summer of 2015. The increased emergence of refugees in Hungary has led to a humanitarian as well as a societal crisis, which, without the help of volunteers, could have escalated very rapidly. The individual perceptions of volunteers serve as the object of the study, while various concepts of humanitarian aid interpreting, community interpreting and volunteering serve as the theoretical framework for this thesis. The aim of this thesis is to understand in how far volunteers have contributed to the deconstruction of cultural differences. As the state has shown no tolerance towards refugees, the question occurs, whether volunteers perceived their activity as social, or political activism. Furthermore, the thesis gives insight into the operative methods of the aid organizations and identifies the different communicative constellations, in which interpreting occurred, in order to find out how language barriers were overcome. In order to address these questions, semi-structured interviews were conducted with seven volunteers, who have, among other tasks, also served as interpreters. The thematic analysis as developed by Froschauer and Lueger served as the analytical method. The analysis of the interviews has proven that all the interviewees perceive their activity as activism. Furthermore, they all have kept a positive attitude in regards to their time as volunteers. It was also proven that communicative obstacles played a pivotal role in the management of this crisis, which proves the importance of communicative aspects in crisis management. ; vorgelegt von Harald Pasch, BA ; Abweichender Titel laut Übersetzung des Verfassers/der Verfasserin ; Zusammenfassungen in Deutsch und Englisch ; Karl-Franzens-Universität Graz, Masterarbeit, 2019 ; (VLID)3703731

The article outlines the ethnography and the socio-linguistic situation of the Mündü with focus on the sociolinguistic situation and on the endangerment of their language. The Mündü are a little known ethnic group living in several non-contiguous areas in the border triangle of Sudan, DR Congo and Uganda. Data on the history and the culture of the Mündü are scant and scattered in small pieces in the reports of the early European travellers in the region, in ethnographic descriptions of the neighbouring peoples, in particular on the Zande, in ethnographic surveys of Africa and ethnographic handbooks. All pieces of information on the cultural, economic and political situation of the Mündü from the latter second half the 20th century until now are published online on the websites of various organisations. Data on the current situation of the Mündü result partly from my own observations in Arua/Uganda.
